Department of Mechanical Engineering

The department will start the UG program (B.E. in Mechanical Engineering) with an initial intake of 60 students in 2019. The present intake is 60 and is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum a collegiate Public State University in Karnataka State.

Mechanical engineering students will work at the cutting edge of State-of-the-art technology, in areas such as robotics; Computer integrated Manufacturing, automation, materials, Experimental Stress analysis, Fracture Mechanics, Fluid mechanics, FEM and design optimisation.

Through project work, students can choose to use nationally-recognised materials characterisation facilities, explore the cross-disciplinary aspect of mechanical engineering, applying their skills in areas ranging from 3D printing to Space technology.

Upon completion of the under graduate degree Students can start a career in a core mechanical engineering industry in Design, thermal, Automotive, Aerospace and Manufacturing domains. Alternatively, students can pursue master degree in world class universities of India and across the world.
